Who we are

Hello!

My name is Rebecca, and I have a deep love for animals — especially cats — as well as nature and the environment. After moving to Albany and witnessing the growing population of feral cats in our area, I wanted to do something — for the kittens & cats, and for our community. I hope you will join me in helping the cats, either through giving your time as a volunteer or supporting our efforts through donations.

I founded Helena's Community Cats of SOWEGA, Inc. in honor of my mother, Helena, who believed in giving generously to organizations that helped people and animals. Her compassion was a gift she passed on to me, and this organization is how I carry it forward.

Helena's Community Cats of SOWEGA, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit established in October 2025, based in Albany, Georgia.
