Changing the lives of cats in Southwest Georgia

Helena’s Community Cats of SOWEGA is a 501(3)(c) nonprofit organization dedicated to the humane management, care, and welfare of free-roaming, stray, abandoned, and at-risk cats and kittens in Southwest Georgia. We believe every cat deserves compassion, safety, and the opportunity to live a healthy and peaceful life.

Helena’s Community Cats works to reduce feline overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs. Our community cats program is designed to be a resource for managing feral and stray cat populations, but it’s important to note that we are not a rescue organization, and we do not relocate cats. Our primary goal is to help control the population of community cats through targeted trapping and low-cost spay and neuter services.

While we wish we could assist every request, our resources are focused on high-priority cases. We prioritize trapping large colonies that have become unmanageable, foster & adopting abandoned bottle kittens, and providing support to individuals who are unable to trap the cats themselves, such as the elderly or those in need of financial assistance.

For those who need assistance with trapping feral or community cats, please email us, and a member of our team will reach out to you within two business days.
